Shimelle's Challenge 1 - patterned paper background

As I am not a regular Blogger, I do follow a number of other people - Shimelle is a particular favourite.  so here is the first of my entries to have scrapbooking week challenges.

This was a freestyle interpretation of a design by the Scrapbook Sisters, from my fortnightly class, but I thought the patterned background would fit.

Funny Girl -
my daughter plonked a cushion on her head she reminds me of Marge Simpson - hence the cut out to make it feel a bit cartoon-y...

Triple Combo - Car-sent-allenge

It's my Nanna's birthday on Tuesday, so I have made a card and present combo.  I vaguely remembered an article in Craft Stamper about adding a pocket to a card, so I thought I would have a go.  The issue was Feb 2011 and I have freestyled a little.  I have also been inspired by the Scrapbook sisters challenge of Birds, hence the title of the post.  Here is card/present/challenge entry

I hope this counts as it only has one bird on the card - but I did stamp a couple more onto the envelope!

Scrapping Mad!

I decided to have tidy through of my desk to sort out and finish the recent layouts I have done. Some have been from the scrapbook sisters classes and couple have been following Shimelle Laine's free class on two peas in a bucket which is about scrapping the 4x6 photos.

Enjoy!

Just a quick post

Just a quick post before I dash off to west London to join up with rest of the family for some Mother's Day fun.

Here is the card I made for my Mum and also a brag book - just to remind her what a lovely family we are!
The card was inspired by one I saw in the Scrapbook Sisters shop and uses the Gayle Bond stamps and the Tim Holtz dressmaker die.

I would like to enter this intothe scrapbooksisters card-challenge-29

This is some of the photos of the brag book - enjoy!

Front cover - all pages are cut from greyboard and then covered.  The die was Baroque (I think) from Tim Holtz.

I wish my camera skills were a little clearer, but hopefully you get the idea.

A closer view of the first 3 pages.

Well that's all - maybe I will get some photos for the scrapbook challenge on the scrapbook sisters blog.

Happy Mother's day

Inspired by Shimelle

I love following Shimelle's website, I am jealous of her travels and have been inspired by a few of her classes and sketches.

I have started her free class, which is scrapping 6x4 photos.  This class is also on the Two Peas in a Bucket website, which is in their classes and events section.

This is the first of my pages from the February class, I can imagine there might be more.  I don't think I have quite followed Shimelle's instructions with a landscape photo.  I have chosen to keep the background plain and the embellishments came from a set that a friend in the USA sent to me for Xmas.

I hope you like it (please forgive the photo, I must practice getting the right light and angle!)

Red, red, red

This was inspired by the challenge from Scrapbook sisters blog is Red, red, red.. after being at their crop yesterday I was in the zone for crafting.  I saw a card that Karen had made in the morning crop class which was a line of punched circles which I thought, even for me, I could do....   then somehow over night this line of circles became a heart shape made out of hearts and all in red.  I hope my Husband will like the card, first in a few years!

The heart punch is dovecrafts and the papers are a mis-match of anything red and left over from my scraps box.  The gems lift it a bit and and stamping is high-lighted with glossy accents.

Here is the result...

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

How long ....?!

It has been over a month, since I last blogged which is hopeless, but I have been playing with my new Big Shot and the associated dies and embossing folders.  This of course now leads to more retail opportunities for me!

Here is my entry for the latest Scrapbook sisters challenge "With thanks"

I realized that I only had very small Thank you sentiments, so I tried to make it larger with the 'you're so tweet' stamp.
The papers are a mix of Kate Knight freebies and K&Co, the BirdCage die is Tim Holtz (my absolutely most favourite thing in the world at the moment) and the punches are all from EK success.

I also made a general card, to test out my Butterfly die, it is very pretty but I couldn't work out how to get the shape out of the die without tearing the paper, any suggestions welcome...

I hope you enjoy these cards....

Thanks for stopping by..
