Flags and Banners

As it is half term and I finally have some time to catch up on some quality scrapping time, I have been busy - one of the first jobs has been to scrap some miscellaneous photos before I dive into my 500+ photos taken at Disney World....

Using the challenge at Scrapbook Sisters for a layout of flags and banners, I have put together a layout about Boris' Bikes in London.   The paper is by Crate Paper and conveniently had some bunting already printed on to it.  The paper was from my last class at Scrapbook sister and I only have a few bits left now - I do like Crate Paper...

I hope you like the layout, have a good half term, maybe there will be some more layouts on the way...

Apologies for the background, still can't quite get the photography right!

Shimelle's Challenge 4 - Story behind a photo

For a number of years we have been holidaying in a town called Mojacar in Spain, and for the same number of years I have seen this sign.  Each time I see it, I have to smile and make a promise to take a photo.  2010 I finally got the shot.

The sign is in spanish "Obra Ilegal" meaning Illegal Work...

the story behind the photo is... a neighbour built some sort of addition to his home illegally (without the official paperwork- isn't that just what happens in Spain anyway?...), this upset the person living next door so much that he put up (on his own house) a sign pointing out the illegal work, (which is probably also illegal).

What makes me really smile is that the sign can be seen from one of the main roads through the town and I can't imagine either person could sell their house due to the sign and also it means they both have to remain a neighbours!  I also admire the person who owns the sign to show their displeasure so publically - they can't be British...

Shimelle's Challenge 3 - Border between photos

I have been on a mission to scrap a few 'bits n' pieces' before I embark on the mammoth task which is scrapping a recent WDW (Walt Disney World) trip....  I love that I now know what WDW stands for.. took me days to realize...

Here is one of memories I didn't want to lose, the first proper 'Den' my children had made in the bit of woodland near home.. the paper with bugs and leaves, seemed to work well with the tree-like border punch.  Also in homage to Shimelle, there's a butterfly.....

Shimelle's Challenge 2 - Create a triangle

Hopefully this layout will meet the brief of the "create a triangle"  I am hoping the triangle is the two rosettes made with a Tim Holtz die and the journalling note.

Shimelle's Challenge 1 - patterned paper background

As I am not a regular Blogger, I do follow a number of other people - Shimelle is a particular favourite.  so here is the first of my entries to have scrapbooking week challenges.

This was a freestyle interpretation of a design by the Scrapbook Sisters, from my fortnightly class, but I thought the patterned background would fit.

Funny Girl -
my daughter plonked a cushion on her head she reminds me of Marge Simpson - hence the cut out to make it feel a bit cartoon-y...

Triple Combo - Car-sent-allenge

It's my Nanna's birthday on Tuesday, so I have made a card and present combo.  I vaguely remembered an article in Craft Stamper about adding a pocket to a card, so I thought I would have a go.  The issue was Feb 2011 and I have freestyled a little.  I have also been inspired by the Scrapbook sisters challenge of Birds, hence the title of the post.  Here is card/present/challenge entry

I hope this counts as it only has one bird on the card - but I did stamp a couple more onto the envelope!
